Get to know the highlights of our work for children in cycles of poverty that were formerly gang-dominated communities.
Food For Families

Since the fall and winter of 2022-23, we have provided vital assistance to more than 1,500 families in communities where women and children were at risk of starvation due to the incarceration of their primary breadwinners, often associated with gangs.
Our $12 food packets, designed to sustain a family for approximately a month, offered essential support during this critical time.
Scholarships Project

We provide scholarships to outstanding students from gang-impacted communities who lack the financial resources for higher education.
In rural areas of El Salvador, only about 10% of high school graduates make it to university. With education, these students have the chance to succeed in life.
Unity In Action
On February 9th, 2024, Floración Foundation, in collaboration with Airline Ambassador, Fundación Simán, and Gente Ayudando Gente, organized Unity in Action—a transformative event that brought together over 120 university students to inspire change and build a brighter future for El Salvador.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions and projects addressing community development, environmental conservation, and social impact, fostering collaboration and innovation. This initiative showcased the power of partnerships in driving sustainable progress and empowering the next generation.
Unity in Action was more than an event—it was a celebration of solidarity, collective action, and hope for El Salvador’s future.

We organize workshops for children in gang-affected areas, offering them a safe space to heal, express themselves, build resilience and unity.
These sessions help them develop emotional tools to overcome trauma, fostering hope and empowering them to envision a better future.
Healing Through Art: ArtHelps and Floración Foundation's Transformative Campaign in El Salvador
From May 19 to 31, 2024, the award-winning German NGO ArtHelps partnered with Floración Foundation to bring their impactful initiatives to communities previously affected by gang violence in El Salvador. Their mission: to foster a peaceful, creative, and hopeful future for young Salvadorans through art-based therapeutic techniques successfully used in Ukraine, Iraq, South Africa, and Brazil.
A Collaborative Effort for Lasting Change
This initiative focused on helping children reintegrate into a peaceful society, particularly those whose families have been affected by past gang involvement. By combining Floración's commitment to education and community development with ArtHelps’ expertise in art therapy, this partnership is laying the foundation for long-term social transformation.
Gallery Exhibition & Local Artist Support
A special gallery exhibition featuring renowned Salvadoran artists was held, with 50% of proceeds donated to support the project. This event not only celebrated the vibrant creativity within the community but also reinforced the collective effort to provide a brighter future for the children.
Special Acknowledgments
This project would not have been possible without the invaluable support of El Zonte Arts and Learning, El Palmarcito Surf School, and Centro Escolar Licenciado Walter Beneke. Their dedication helped create a safe and nurturing space for the children, demonstrating the power of community-driven change.
This collaboration is just the beginning of an artistic and social transformation that will continue to inspire hope and creativity in El Salvador.

A Beacon of Hope for Families in Need

At Floración, building lasting relationships with impoverished communities has always been central to our mission. As we expand, we are proud to announce our partnership with the Moody Foundation and Provision International, enabling us to accept donations of food, clothes, and toys in the United States and distribute them here in El Salvador. We have become the go-to distributor for multiple donors and NGOs, ensuring that those most in need receive timely and effective support.t.
This past month marked yet another milestone in our journey of service, as we partnered with the ministry Activating Love to bring much-needed relief to communities that need it.
Together, we distributed food and clothing to 400 families across the regions of Shutía, Comasagua, Conchalío, Lago de Coatepeque, and El Palmarcito. Many of these families had gone without food for one or more days, facing the harsh reality of survival.
Our team’s presence in these areas not only provided immediate relief but also offered hope for the future. We estimate that, through our ongoing efforts, we will be able to feed up to 1,000 families per year. This is not just about delivering aid but building a sustainable support system that these communities can rely on as they rebuild their lives.
As we continue this important work, we remain committed to expanding our reach and deepening our relationships with those we serve. Every donation, every act of service, brings us one step closer to a brighter, more resilient future for all.
Leading the Way in Collaboration with the Government
On September 5, we had the incredible honor of being invited to meet with the head of the Development and Design Agency of the Nation to present our achievements.
The meeting exceeded our expectations. Floración is set to become the first NGO to work directly alongside the Salvadoran government. During this meeting, the head of the Agency expressed the government's confidence in our work and he was task to lead the Integration Initiative, which will coordinate efforts across various governmental bodies and the private sector to drive human development forward.
For years, NGOs and private donors have been pivotal in global development efforts. Here in El Salvador, Floración has made remarkable progress working with children in communities once plagued by gang violence.
Green Houses to Foster Communal Development

We have started the process to build greenhouses in communities to promote sustainable agriculture and communal growth.
These spaces will provide families with the tools and knowledge to grow fresh produce, improve nutrition, and generate income. Through teamwork and education, the project fosters self-reliance and development, planting seeds for a brighter future.
